The Many Benefits of Aromatherapy

Feb 26th, 2010 | By Dee | Category: Aromatherapy

Certain scents bring on sense and memory responses from your body. Using scents to help improve your mental state or your health is the basis of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy products, including oils and lotions, can be used to help promote your physical and mental health. Bring the power of aromatic scent into your home, car or office with aromatherapy products.

Quality aromatherapy oils are called essential oils. Aromatherapy oils are concentrated oils that the skin can absorb quickly, or the oils can be used in an aromatherapy diffuser to add scent to a room. Aromatherapy essential oils also come in small vials so that they easily fit in your purse, briefcase, or workout bag, allowing you to bring your aromatherapy treatment with you wherever you go.

Financial Bad Habits

Feb 17th, 2010 | By Dee | Category: Digestive Health

It is easy to get into bad habits with financial matters. Few people have enough money to simply buy what they want without a thought. Most people have to plan their purchases and stay vigilant to keep themselves solvent.

Many people have bad habits of getting too far in debt with credit cards. The cards are easy to get. You can get a handful of Visas and Master Cards, an American Express Card, a Discovery Card, and several cards from retail stores without much effort. You do not have to have much income to get this many cards, either.

None of the card companies seem to consider that you might have to pay payments to the other cards. You may think you have all these cards just for emergencies. However, if you get into bad habits with them, you can end up spending them to their limits. You may reach a point where you cannot even make the minimum monthly payments.

Can Thinking Manage Stress?

Dec 28th, 2009 | By Dee | Category: Stress, Relaxation

We would all like to see our stress just disappear like magic, but those of us who are practical realize that isn’t going to happen anytime soon. There are many stress management techniques individuals can use to help protect themselves from the effects of stress on the body, mind and emotions. Have you ever thought about whether or not how or what you are thinking can manage stress?

You have probably realized that how you react to a situation can create additional stress or dissipate it but have you imagined that your patterns of thinking may be able to have an impact on how you manage stress? Some people are overly critical of themselves and perhaps others and they have a negative way of thinking about things, about people and about themselves.

Negative thinking can and does influence the intensity of stress and the amount of unhappiness that we associate with the stress in our lives. Negative thoughts about what is happening to us can have a damaging effect on our self-confidence and our self-image. Negative thinking can also distract us from finding real solutions to the problems that stress us out.

Perimenopause and Weight Gain

Dec 23rd, 2009 | By Dee | Category: Diet & Weight Loss, Women's Health

Weight gain during perimenopause is a universal complaint among women. It is not uncommon for a woman to gain between 10 and 15 pounds, especially around her abdomen and hips. In some instances women see this as a rite of passage to becoming and older wiser you. But most often, this almost instantaneous weight gain is a signal of hormonal imbalance and is heralded by emotional upheaval and distress over this sudden increase in the late. In medical circles, some described as weight gain as an unavoidable “middle-aged spread”.

And, while women in the past had to accept these changes to their body, current technology and medical knowledge has enabled physicians and holistic practitioners to more clearly establish the imbalances in the body and help the woman to determine specific methodologies she can use in order to reverse the process.

Prior to perimenopause and menopause levels of estrogen in the body can often mask symptoms of other systems having difficulty. A woman has been exposed to many years of toxins, environmental changes and hormonal imbalances, the results of which are now being felt by the rest of the body.

Any gemstone makes a beautiful holiday gift! There are some obvious, as well as some not so obvious choices I would like to mention, that can make a great gift as well as have great significance.

Chiastolite

The Cross Stonesign of devotion towards awareness and dispels negativity. It signifies both death and re-birth and helps one to understand the realization of immortality. It is used as a bridge for crossing over.

It helps one to assimilate during times of change. It provides insight to answers when problem solving. This powerful crystal balances ones perspective in both creativity and practicality. During illness, it helps to maintain spirituality, lessens Fever, balances blood flow, increases secretion of milk in nursing mothers and repairs chromosome damage.

Diamond

When considering the use of a Diamond for healing purposes, one must ignore its monetary value and concentrate upon the stones unique relationship with energy. It is frequently combined with other Gems or Crystals. If used with an Aquamarine, a Diamond will increase the cleansing properties and mental soothing that Aquamarine helps to produce.
