Aromatherapy is an art that has been around for centuries that consists of using certain scents to elicit certain responses. The benefits of aromatherapy are balked at by many who can’t fathom that smelling certain aromas can cause someone to feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and they certainly can’t believe that certain scents can relieve pain, but it’s true. Just by smelling certain aromas, aromatherapy can relieve all sorts of symptoms.
So, if you or someone you know still needs convincing as to the benefits of aromatherapy, it’s recommended that you give it a try. Once you light those candles, incense sticks, oil burners, or use any other aromatherapy product, you’ll be hooked as the benefits of aromatherapy will then become very apparent.
Choose Your Type
When testing out the benefits of aromatherapy, you have many options available to you. It all depends on your preference, as there is an aromatherapy product out there for everyone. Category: Aromatherapy Aromatherapy, sometimes also referred to as aromatic or scent medicine, is the art of healing the body using naturally distilled essences from different parts of plant to improve and enhance your everyday emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. These essences are known as Essential Oils.
What are Essential Oils?
These oils are the concentrated essences of the aromatic plant. They can be used as an analgesic (to alleviate pain), an anti-inflammatory (to reduce swelling), an anti-bacterial, an anti-fungal, an anti-viral (to prevent infections). Since scent stimlates the part of the brain that effects your emotions, Essential Oils can also sooth and calm.or energize and arouse.
These Essential Oils are highly concentrated and are measured in drops. They should be housed in dark colored air tight bottles in a cool area, out of direct light. Unless noted, they should not be applied directly to the skin, but instead placed in a Carrier Oil such as Almond oil, so as to avoid irritation.

Category: Aromatherapy Have you ever walked into a home and been struck by how great the house smells? You may wonder whether the owner sprays air fresheners, or burns candles all of the time. More often than not, essential oils are being used. Essential oils are wonderful for the home and they can actually do a lot more than give your home a great scent. Essential oils can also be used for first aid and cleaning, too.
Using essential oils as an antiseptic: You can go to your local grocery store and purchase expensive antiseptic and disinfectant sprays for your home, or you can go the natural way and use essential oils. When you add essential oils to vinegar, you have just created a great way to ward off germs. This method has actually been used for centuriesway before you could buy those sprays in stores. Some of the essential oils that you can look into for this purpose include poppy, pine, peppermint, tea tree oil, rosemary and eucalyptus. Read more...

Category: Aromatherapy There has been a growing trend in the use of essential oils. The increasing variety of bath products in the health and beauty market gives us an idea of what customers are looking for. No longer are consumers satisfied with synthetic essences, but we are finding that more and more people are looking at the quality of the products they are purchasing.
You too can create your own unique blend of quality soaps, bath salts, massage oils, and creams with essential oils. Using quality base products (essential oils, carrier oils, beeswax, soaps, salts, and creams), create bath products just the way you like them. When you purchase ready made products, some may be too strong or too light. Some products may claim to have a certain level or purity or certification and still not be as effective as they claim to be. Remove the uncertainty by being able to create your own health and beauty products. Read more...

Category: Aromatherapy How do I know which essential oils are right for me? There are over 90 essential oils and each can have one or more (most times more) healing properties. Choices! Choices! That’s a huge selection to choose from.
The first thing to consider when making your selection is whether or not the scent appeals to you. Every scent might have a useful medicinal property for each of us, but only certain scents work for us. The aromas of the essential oils work to stimulate our nervous system and brain functions. If we are distracted by the side effect of a scent irritation in our body or the aroma simply does not appeal to our senses, then the essential oil probably is not a good choice. Try to sample the scent if possible especially if we are purchasing it for the first time. This can be accomplished by taking a trip to a local essential oils supplier or at the very least, to a local bath products retailer. Read more...

Category: Pain Management At this point researchers and physicians do not have a definitive cause of typical migraine headaches 00 they have been able to identify some genetic and environmental factors that seem to play a role. There is some theory that migraine headaches can be caused by changes in the trigeminal nerve, and balances in brain chemicals including serotonin or an imbalance of other minerals, such as magnesium.
Although the exact mechanism of how the headache is caused may not be known they do know that there are a number of different triggers, or factor is in the environment which can cause a migraine headache to occur. While these triggers may cause a migraine and someone who is prone to migraines they do not cause a migraine in people who are not prone to my grades.
Fluctuations in estrogen levels seemed to trigger headaches in many women who have known migraine history. Women often report migraine headaches immediately before or during their periods when there is a major drop in the amount of estrogen available to the body. Other women have an increase in the number of migraines during pregnancy or menopause, again hormonally related. Read more...

By definition, aromatherapy is a form of both complementary and alternative medicine that is based on using concentrated amounts of essential oils. These oils are traditionally extracted from leaves, bark, roots, flowers, seeds and other plants that are known to have certain healing properties.
