Category: Home & Hearth, Love & Relationships People often come to relationships with bad habits when it comes to getting along with another person. They may have every intention of making a relationship work, but ingrained trends stop them from truly connecting. There are many such bad habits.
Jealousy plagues many otherwise good relationships. A boyfriend might always suspect his girlfriend of going around with other men. Or, it could be more subtle. A woman may suspect that her husband is constantly looking for another female to take her place. In either case, the jealous person may have nothing real to worry about. This is when it gets to be nothing more than a bad habit.
Selective hearing is another problem that becomes a bad habit in relationships. People do not pay attention to each other’s needs. One person will try to explain something that is important to them, and the other will say, “yes, yes,” but will not really hear. Read more...

Category: Fitness & Exercise Step aerobics is just one particular type of aerobic classes that you will find at most gyms. In fact, step aerobics has been one of the most popular aerobics classes since these were first initiated. In traditional aerobic exercises the participant performs their routine on the floor where they learn a series of dance steps or boxing routines. In step aerobics there are two levels of steps which are combined with arm gestures to increase large muscle movement and increase the fat burning sequence. Most of these routines are performed to music.
Another difference between traditional aerobics and step aerobics is that the workout in step aerobics travels vertically rather than horizontally increasing the workload on the large muscles of the legs. The routine is arranged so that students step up and down to the music and can increase the height of the step by 2 inch increments as they improving performance. Read more...

It has been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, that is true for many reasons. But, still, so many people skip breakfast. Is it helping or hurting our health?
In a word, yes – skipping breakfast is hurting our health. Dieticians have been saying it for years now and some of us still aren’t getting it. Leaving this meal in favor of a cup of coffee is not going to help you stay true to a healthy eating plan during the day.
Think about your body. You have slept all night. If you were awake, would you go six, seven or even eight hours without food? Of course you wouldn’t. When you skip breakfast you are going almost half a day before you have your first meal. Your body is starved for nutrition.
Here are the drawbacks to leaving the house without something to eat:
* Loss of energy. You just woke up so you are already feeling a little low. But, without any fuel to get that engine going again, you won’t regain the energy you need to start the day. Read more...

Category: Detox, Immunity, Infection Meningitis can be found in three forms: bacterial, viral, and fungal. Bacterial meningitis is the most well-known and is potentially life threatening. Viral and fungal meningitis, while not as well-known or as serious, are still medical conditions you may want to learn about. Learning about meningitis treatment options, for all forms, will allow you to discuss those options intelligently with the attending physician.
Normal symptoms associated with meningitis include fever, headache, and stiff neck which begin very quickly. Other symptoms include nausea and vomiting as well as sensitivity to light and fatigue.
Bacterial meningitis is also characterized by severe aches or pain in the muscles and joint along with rapid breathing, diarrhea, and a skin rash. Viral meningitis has many of the same symptoms of bacterial meningitis and may be caused by the enteroviruses which appear most often in the summer and fall. Fungal meningitis is probably the least well-known as the symptoms occur over a period of time rather than quickly or within a day or two of contact. People with fungal meningitis may have the other symptoms associated with the condition as well as hallucinations or personality changes. Read more...

Category: Nutrition People interested in weight loss or muscle gain often turn to protein powders and protein supplements. It might seem that these two goals are diametrically opposed from each other after all, the first group wants to lose weight and the second group wants to gain weight-albeit muscle weight.
Supplement manufacturers are now taking advantage of both groups of individuals and aiming their marketing in order to garner the best possible financial benefits.
One of the biggest mistakes that all of us makes it is not paying specific attention to the nutritional needs of our bodies. Bodybuilders are no different in that they don’t pay enough attention to the nutrition required in order to build muscle mass with the same desire and determination that they pay attention to their weight training program. If neglected results will only be a fraction of what they could be. Read more...

Category: Pain Management For many years it was thought that migraines were a woman’s disease. Women were diagnosed with migraines when they were pregnant or they had become very stressed but it was believed that men rarely experienced a migraine. Today, we know that to be untrue and that men are also prone to experiencing migraine headaches although not at the rate that women do. In an online survey conducted by the National Headache Foundation researchers found that men diagnosed with headache of some kind, were most often diagnosed with migraine headaches.
Those who suffered through migraines will report that they are debilitating and often life altering. Despite this fact, men often take a more silent approach and are not willing to discuss their condition with healthcare providers. Almost one third of all men who suffer from headaches, according to the online survey, have never reported them to their primary care physician. They believed that it was a sign of weakness and not important enough to require the care of a doctor. Read more...

“I really want to help make a difference in our world, it just breaks my heart when I see (insert ‘hungry child’, ‘war’, ‘abuse’, ‘homelessness’ or a myriad of other social ills) but I just don’t have the (insert ‘time’, ‘extra money’, ‘resources’) to make a real difference.”
I hear that nearly every day, from both folks who are online contacts and real-world friends and neighbors. My answer? HOGWASH!
Whether we realize it or not, we are ALREADY making a difference in our world with every action, and non-action, with every word spoken or held back, with every choice, with every smile, with every frown, with every thank you. So if we’re already making a difference, why on EARTH wouldn’t every single one of us strive to assure that difference is a positive one?
So, for all of those who truly do not see how they can make a positive impact, for those who cannot think of ways to make a difference, and, for all you masters of excuses, here are 55 *easy*, simple, free or no-cost ways to help heal our world and our people. Category: Featured Articles, Urinary Health Kids are susceptible to urinary tract infections, both boys and girls. It is not easy to diagnose a urinary tract infection in kids because the symptoms can be indicative of other conditions. Here are some basics about urinary tract infections and symptoms to watch for in your children.
A urinary tract infection occurs when bacteria are introduced into the urinary system at some point. The most common point of entry is the urethra. This is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. The beginning point for urine is the kidneys. Their job is to filter the fluid within the body. Whatever is not needed is excreted as urine. The urine passes from the kidneys to the bladder via the ureters.
For children, urinary tract infections have a variety of causes that you might not have considered. The first is toilet training. Girls at the age for toilet training often experience more urinary tract infections as they learn how to wipe themselves and develop good hygiene habits. Wiping with toilet tissue from back to front can introduce bacteria from the anus into the urethra. The same can happen to boys (especially those who are uncircumcised) but is much less common. If you do not pay attention now to your child’s words, their actions, friends, activities. If you don’t pay attention now to your child’s smiles, their tears, their silence…
How will you see, how will you recognize, and most importantly, how will you be there to help when they turn a sharp corner on their life path?
How will you see how much they need you during a time in which they show the world only smiles? How will you know to step up and step in during a time when all they know is confusion?
Pay attention now. Pay attention always. It is one of the greatest gifts you can give to your child and to our world.

Category: Color, Crystal Therapy I have written a lot of articles about Gemstones, rocks and Crystals for this site that describe which ones are best for prosperity, love and protection. If you look back in the archives here, you will find lots of information about Gemstones, Crystals and semi-precious stones and their magical purposes.
This article teaches you how to make optimum use of these natural allies of the spirit.
First of all, when you go to a new age or gem store, you will usually find baskets or drawers filled with various kinds of Gems. Tumbled stones are usually the cheapest and feature lumpy rounded surfaces. Points are Gems that have been cut so that they resemble a geometric shape or a small tower.
The most important thing is to pick up the stone and see if it feels right in your hand. One stone might feel somehow better than another. The process of feeling energy from an object by holding it is called psychometry. Read more...

Category: Urinary Health What Diet is Ideal for People Suffering from Kidney Stones
Indeed, there is no more effective means of fighting any disease but proper diet. Many experts agree that having the right diet is one of the keys in treating and preventing common diseases such as kidney stones. This is because is there is controlled diet, people can choose not to consume foods that can lead to the faster formation and faster growthin the cases of those who already have kidney stones.
Kidney stones refer to the salts and other minerals formed in the vital organs such as kidneys, ureters, and bladder. Category: Fitness & Exercise Are you trying to improve your overall health and fitness while still making wise financial decisions? In our economy getting used exercise equipment makes more and more sense, especially when finding quality equipment is not as difficult as it used to be. When purchasing someone else’s equipment be sure you aren’t buying another person’s problems or acquiring a piece of equipment that doesn’t work.
Here are a few tips and tricks to purchasing used equipment that will help you get the right equipment for the job.
1. Before purchasing anything always try the equipment. You will not have a warranty period so it’s important to be sure the equipment is at least in working order when you put it in the car and take it home.
2. Check out your local newspaper classified advertising under the heading of sports equipment or fitness equipment.

Category: Color, Crystal Therapy Crystals are easier to work with than most of the hocus-pocus you may have heard about. They are a direct nature-link to the invisible, higher realms, and can rapidly help you develop your psychic abilities.
Developing your sensitivity to extend beyond the normal five senses is necessary to participate in the new dimension of exploration now upon us. Indeed, as we continue over the threshold of our physical world into a mental one, psychic ability may even become necessary to our very survival.
Everyone is equipped from the factory to do this, proven by the fact that we are only using an estimated three to five percent of our natural capabilities. You dont have to be weird like me or have a near-death experience to awaken these qualities.
If you are new at this and want to give it a shot, go to one of the several crystal stores in the Hawaiian islands or find one of the 2,300 coast to coast near your home. Start with any plain, raw (unpolished) Quartz crystal shard that you may be drawn to. Read more...

Category: Allergies Many people get sick when they eat certain foods, but that doesn’t mean they actually have a food allergy. If you’re having problems that seem to be caused by what you eat, pay attention to the symptoms to determine if you have a food allergy. That way, you can have your problem properly treated.
While very uncommon, anaphylaxis is probably the most well-known symptom of food allergies. This is when several allergy symptoms come on very quickly and occur all at once. This can be very dangerous, and if not treated immediately, can even result in death.
When most people think of food allergies, they usually think of something serious. While most people who are strongly allergic are very aware of when they are having a reaction, there are people with mild allergies who don’t even know they’re having one. Here are some of the more common, but less severe food allergy symptoms:
* Itching
* Rash
* Headache
* Itching, watery eyes
* Upset stomach Read more...
