What will it take to get us to stop judging and start loving?
What will it take to get us to stop stalling and making excuses and start doing?
Do we need a McDonald’s of humanitarianism to get folks to believe they have the time to make a difference?
Will we have to hand out bonuses to convince our ourselves and our neighbors that taking a compassionate interest in the lives of those around them will also benefit them?
Really, what tragedy will it take, what cataclysmic event will have to happen, for every member of our race to finally see that we each play an active role in our reality; that each of has a personal responsibility to our world and to each other?
What will it take?

Congestive heart failure occurs when the heart is not pumping blood as efficiently as it should and is not getting the required amount of blood to the organs in the body. Soon after the efficiency of the heart goes down the organs do not receive the right amount of oxygen and nutrients, and symptoms occur.
Symptoms of heart failure include:
Edema, irregular or rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, trouble concentrating, wheeze, nausea, coughing with phlegm that is white or tinged with blood, appetite loss or fluid retention that results in fast weight gain.
Symptoms are not always apparent while resting but will almost always show up during some type of exercise. Exercise tends to cause an individual to become fatigued and dizzy. The blood pressure goes down and the body attempts to make up for the lost blood volume by setting off hormone and nerve signals that are meant to increase blood volume by retaining water. In His Own Words…
My name is Jake Hytken, I am 18 years old, and I have a story to tell. I was born with an undiagnosable form of Muscular Dystrophy and the doctors were in the dark about what to expect.
In addition to MD, I also have Gaucher’s Disease, a Jewish genetically inherited disease that my brother has as well.
I always thought my medical condition through my eyes was relatively easy to handle during my earlier years. I was weak, walked with a wobble, and was exhausted by the end of the day.
I could not run, climb or play with my friends on a baseball team, or any sports teams at all, much less, go to sleep away camp.
I didn’t understand what the big deal was and why my mom wouldn’t let me go. I thought I was ‘normal.” A young kid only sees things as black and white, and I was oblivious to the shades of grey that were the reality of my illness. Read more...

The Smiles for Healing Project is one of Healing Our World Net’s own initiatives with the simple mission of bringing people of all ages, races, creeds and lifestyles a smile to brighten their day, lift their spirits and promote peace, compassion and kindness in our world.
It may not seem like much, but a smile CAN make a difference in someone’s day and even in someone’s life. As Mother Teresa so eloquently stated: Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing. We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. Peace begins with a smile.
How We Try to Give Smiles to Strangers
Our small ‘kindness army’ leaves small gifts on porch steps, on cars in parking lots, on bus seats, in taxis, public restrooms, on planes, on merchant’s countertops, in pizza delivery bags – really anywhere we can. The gifts are things like beautiful aromatherapy candles with affirmation cards, reflexology tools, aromatherapy massage rollers and inhalers, boxes of fancy coffee, and a myriad of other small, thoughtful and smile-inducing gifts. “I have to believe that a smile, laughter, a helping hand, a hug, a touch, compassion and kindness are weapons of mass construction.” ~Dee
Note: Our Weapons of Mass Construction – Smiles For Healing project could really use donations of small items (branded items are perfectly fine!) suitable for giving away. If you’d like a bit of free promotion, or, if you’d just like to help us spread love, kindness and smiles, please consider donating money or gift items to this worthwhile project of compassion. Thank you so much and we wish you all life’s blessings!
For those of you who have received a gift out of nowhere, please keep reading and you’ll see why it was given to you.
Healing Our World Net was started after many many years of myself and my children doing small things on our own to try and make a difference. As my children got older, I began to feel more and more like I wasn’t doing enough. Read more...

The Love Without Boundaries Foundation is a worldwide group of volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned and impoverished children in China. We provide humanitarian aid in five key areas – Education, Foster Care, Healing Homes, Medical, and Orphanage Assistance – enabling children to receive families through adoption or to become self-sustaining members of their communities.

The Rainbow Twins
I have talked with these ladies both on Twitter and via email and I have to tell you that I am floored by their compassion and dedication to helping these children. Read the story below and then do whatever you’re able to support their efforts! ~Dee
“The Rainbow Twins” (named because their two given names of Hong and Cai combine to make up the Chinese word for “rainbow”) entered this world weighing less than 2 pounds each.
They were abandoned in front of an orphanage by extremely poor migrant workers who had no way to care for their daughters’ emergency medical needs. Read more...

“I really want to help make a difference in our world, it just breaks my heart when I see (insert ‘hungry child’, ‘war’, ‘abuse’, ‘homelessness’ or a myriad of other social ills) but I just don’t have the (insert ‘time’, ‘extra money’, ‘resources’) to make a real difference.”
I hear that nearly every day, from both folks who are online contacts and real-world friends and neighbors. My answer? HOGWASH!
Whether we realize it or not, we are ALREADY making a difference in our world with every action, and non-action, with every word spoken or held back, with every choice, with every smile, with every frown, with every thank you. So if we’re already making a difference, why on EARTH wouldn’t every single one of us strive to assure that difference is a positive one?
So, for all of those who truly do not see how they can make a positive impact, for those who cannot think of ways to make a difference, and, for all you masters of excuses, here are 55 *easy*, simple, free or no-cost ways to help heal our world and our people. (This list started off as 20 ways and I had to make myself stop at 55!) Read more...

Health conditions have alternative treatments. Admit it, not everyone can afford to pay for expensive medicines and other medical costs. If you want a cost-effective way to treat asthma, why dont you try asthma homeopathy?
Homeopathic asthma treatments are quite effective especially among recently diagnosed patients. Children and babies can benefit greatly from this type of treatment. There are times when the symptoms of asthma disappear when the child grows older but during their adulthood, the condition returns. If this happens, you can also use the homeopathy treatments.
Always keep in mind that many studies have already proven the effectiveness and efficiency of conventional medical treatments for asthma. In fact, it has already saved millions of lives for many years. If youre using a conventional asthma treatment, try to talk to your doctor and tell him/her that you want to try the homeopathic treatments. Oftentimes, the doctor will tell you to continue your conventional medications and use the homeopathic treatments as a supplement. By combining the two medications, the patient will be able to address the symptoms successfully. Read more...

Drive smart, save green. It’s a great phrase, and if more people took up the challenge, the whole country – no, the whole world – would benefit immensely. How can you make a difference to the environment with your driving? This article provides you with 7 great tips that you can put into action right away. You’ll save money and help the environment too. OK, time to drive smart, save green…
1. It has to be said: the very best thing you can do to help the environment with your car is stop driving it! However, you may not have that option, so drive slower instead. Most cars perform best at speeds of between 50 mph to 60 mph. Not too slow and not too fast is how to drive smart, save green.
2. A staggering 20% of your car’s fuel consumption is used up just overcoming tire roll resistance! How can you drive smart, save green in these circumstances? Buy quality tires that get great reviews. They may cost a little more, but they will perform better. And remember too that under inflated tires will cost you more in gas bills! Read more...

Osteoporosis is a chronic debilitating condition which affects the bone mass density of both men and women. Although postmenopausal women appeared to have more risk, both men and women have risk factors that can result in osteoporosis. Some of these risk factors are avoidable and some are unavoidable. Below are 10 risk factors that can make a difference in an individual’s health and their likelihood of developing osteoporosis as they age.
1. Although osteoporosis can affects men and women, sex is a risk factor. As many as twice as many women will develop osteoporosis than men. Women start out with a lower bone mass density, tend to live longer lives and lose the protection that estrogen gives their bones after menopause.
2. Bone mass density in the peak years is also a risk factor since the men who are thinner or have smaller body frames tend to have higher risk because their peak bone mass density is lower. Bone mass begins declining in everyone around the age of 35 years. If an individual starts with a higher number they can present or delay the onset of osteoporosis. Individuals younger than 30 can increase their peak bone mass density through weightlifting, weight-bearing exercises and appropriate nutrition. Read more...
