Healthy foods to stay young? Of course, youve heard it before, probably when mom insisted to eat more apples and less burger even when you thought you were too young to age.
Indeed, mom was right. Youll never know when youll start to age until you notice some crumpling and folding on your skin. Premature aging might just be a sleep away. And you never want to see that happen.
But its never too late. You can delay aging now by changing some items on your plates, and its just another meal away.
You Are What You Eat
The food and all other things that you take or dont are laying the groundwork for your health and your appearance as well. For example, a person who has a pretty huge room for french fries and beef patties in his stomach may suffer more diseases and may not look age-appropriate. A person deficient in unsaturated fats, on the other hand, may have dry, flaky skin, and eventually look older than he actually is. Read more...

Vitamin D is one of the essential vitamins our bodies need in order to function appropriately. Most people understand that vitamin D, in conjunction with calcium and phosphorus, are important for the health of your bones. And now, in the recent news media, researchers have also determined that vitamin D has even greater benefits than physicians and nutritional experts previously believed.
Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamins that exists in several forms. This means that the vitamin is absorbed into the fat cells of the body in an individual can overdose on a fat-soluble vitamin. This is different from other water soluble vitamins, such as vitamin C, which is excreted through the kidneys when an individual takes too much.
Vitamin D is found as vitamin D2 and vitamin D3. Vitamin D is found in many different dietary sources such as fish, eggs, fortified milk and hot liver oil. However the sun assist the body in producing all the vitamin D that is required when an individual receives between 45 minutes and to 90 minutes of sun exposure a day. Some researchers believe that as much as 10 minutes of exposure can be enough to prevent deficiencies but the exact number is dependent upon the strength of the sun and the amount of clothing the individual is wearing. TWENTIETH-CENTURY SCIENCE
Investigations into the therapeutic use of color were carried out in Europe during the early twentieth century, notably by Rudolph Steiner, who related color to form, shape, and sound. He suggested that the vibrational quality of certain colors is amplified by some forms, and that certain combinations of color and shape have either destructive or regenerative effects on living organisms. In the schools inspired by Steiners work, classrooms are painted and textured to correspond to the mood of children at various stages of their development.
Rudolph Steiners work was continued by Theo Gimbel, who established the Hygeia Studios and College of Color Therapy in Britain. Among the principles explored by Gimbel are the claims of Max Luscher, a former professor of psychology at Basle University, who claimed that color preferences demonstrate states of mind and/or glandular imbalance, and can be used as the basis for physical and psychological diagnosis. Luschers theory, which forms the basis of the Luscher Color Test, rests on the idea that the significance of color for man originates in his early history, when his behavior was governed by night and day. Luscher believed that the colors associated with these two environments ‘ yellow and dark Blue ‘ are connected with differences in metabolic rate and glandular secretions appropriate to the energy required for nighttime sleep and daytime hunting. He also believed that autonomic (involuntary) responses are associated with other colors. Read more...

Athletes to participate in all different kinds of sports are interested in including endurance training. This is because endurance training is designed to develop energy production systems to meet the demands of any events the athlete undertakes.
Endurance training is actually a very broad and sweeping term that is often used interchangeably with other terms such as “aerobic”, “anaerobic”, and “strength”. But, for the most part people mean aerobic endurance conditioning when they refer to endurance training.
Aerobic actually means working “with oxygen”. During aerobic work the body is working at a level that the demands for oxygen and fuel can be met by what is being taken in through the lungs. The only waste products that are formed are carbon dioxide and water which are removed as sweat and through exhalation. Anaerobic activity means working “without oxygen”. During this activity the body is working at a level that demands higher amounts of oxygen and fuel than can be met by what is coming in to the body. An athlete can work at an anaerobic levels for only short periods of time. Read more...

Hypercortisolism is a long medical term that defines Cushings syndrome. Cushings syndrome is a hyperactive disorder that affects the adrenal cortex and results in excessive secretion of cortisol, which is passed from Glucocorticoids. Cushings syndrome can increase sex hormones and mineralocorticoids.
The pituitary glands are stimulated by hypothalamic. The pituitary glands are also affected by carcinoma and/or adenoma.
As well, the adrenal glands are affected by hyperplasia when Cushings syndrome is present. When Cushings syndrome is present, exogenous secretes into the ACTH via the neoplasm, which is malignant. It continues onto the gallbladder and lungs. You will need to read the anatomy of the skeleton system to see how it affects the spinal column, which in turn causes back pain.
The disorder prolongs or submits excessive administration of ACTH and/or Glucocorticoids into the system, which transmits to the cortex. Since ACTH is secreted excessively into the system, it causes joint pain, edema, fragile skin, weight gain, hypertension, ecchymosis, fatigue, weakness, hirsutism, mood swings, and so on. The symptoms carry onto create acne, abdomen striae, slow healing, moon face, muscle waste, recurrent infections, buffalo humps, gynecomastia, truncal obesity, and so on. We see that obesity, joint pain, weight gain, edema, and other elements of the disorder causes back pain as well. Read more...

Are you a tea drinker? Everyone knows about black tea (regular tea bags) and green tea, but what about white tea? It is said that white tea has more health benefits than either black or green tea.
White tea is not an urban legend but a kind of tea that has silvery white hairs on the buds giving it its name. White tea is highly revered in the Orient, having particular ways that it is produced for maximum effect. White tea buds are picked in the early spring and care is taken to pick the best leaves and buds for the tea production. Picking is prohibited during inclement weather.
There are several white tea varieties, each of a different quality. The best is Silver Needle. Other types include White Peony, Long Life Eyebrow and Tribute Eyebrow. The process to create white tea involves much less processing than either black or green tea so it maintains more of its health benefit. Drinking a daily cup or two of white tea is said to be filled with life-preserving antioxidants. Also, the tea has a naturally sweeter taste than the other types. Read more...

Anger is the feeling we experience when events in our world are not going according to our plans. Anger is one of the most common and destructive delusions affecting our minds. Because it is based on an exaggeration, anger is an expression of our belief system and how we defend it.
Its as if we have an inner idea of how things, events and people should be for us. When we get angry and either feel frustrated or try to change them, we tend to give away our power! Many of us remain a victim to our tempers all of our lives. In essence, anger is the feeling we get when we want to control the world around us.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, anger is most prevalent in the Spring. It is considered the emotion of Spring. Although we can and do experience anger at any time or season, it is Spring when we are most easily angered. This is believed to be due to the changes of light and dark and the balance between them. Heart Break is the realization of our greatness. Heartbreak is one of the most trying, difficult and hurtful processes we can go through. Heart break is not just an emotional state but can induce real patho-physiologic feelings of pain in the heart. It has been said that the most sexual organ is the brain and the organ of most intelligence is truly the heart. We often think a lot with our hearts.
Heart Chakra Energy
When the energy of our Heart center or Chakra is in balance, we are compassionate, loving, empathetic, altruistic, peaceful, in balance and truly have love for ourselves. When the heart is out of balance in excess conditions, we tend to express issues of co-dependency, poor boundaries with often demanding, clinging, jealous and overly sacrificing tendencies.
When the heart is out of balance in deficient conditions, we tend to become anti-social, withdrawn, critical, judgmental, intolerant of ourselves and others, lonely, isolated and depressed. Read more...

The effects of color on life must have been of great significance to early human beings, whose very existence was governed by light and darkness. Most living things appear to be vitalized by the bright reds, oranges, and yellows of daylight and calmed and rejuvenated by the blues, indigos, and violets of the night.
For the ancients, the colors that make up sunlight were each considered to show a different aspect of the divine and to influence different qualities of life. Color is therefore an important feature in the symbolism of ancient cultures throughout the world, and the origins of Healing With Color in Western civilization can be traced back to the mythology of Ancient Egypt and Greece.

If youre the type of person who would rather watch TV and eat all day long than giving youre muscles a little more stretch, better think twice. Heres the deal: this lifestyle speeds up aging. How? Well, inactivity accelerates aging in two ways: it decreases our muscle strength and gives us extra pounds.
Muscle meltdown
As we age, the quantity and strength of our muscle fibers diminish. Truth to the matter is, we lose two to four pounds of muscles every ten years. Decreased number and strength of muscles causes our muscles to lose flexibility, losing our usual range of motion and optimal strength.
Lack of exercise is to blame. It was found out that not exercising for even just a week weakens our muscles significantly. In fact, if you dont exercise for a month, you will lose almost 50% of your original muscle strength. Some people may not even notice their atrophied muscles because of the fatty buildup in their body. Blame that too to lack of exercise. Read more...
