The Smiles for Healing Project is one of Healing Our World Net’s own initiatives with the simple mission of bringing people of all ages, races, creeds and lifestyles a smile to brighten their day, lift their spirits and promote peace, compassion and kindness in our world.
It may not seem like much, but a smile CAN make a difference in someone’s day and even in someone’s life. As Mother Teresa so eloquently stated: Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing. We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. Peace begins with a smile.
How We Try to Give Smiles to Strangers
Our small ‘kindness army’ leaves small gifts on porch steps, on cars in parking lots, on bus seats, in taxis, public restrooms, on planes, on merchant’s countertops, in pizza delivery bags – really anywhere we can. The gifts are things like beautiful aromatherapy candles with affirmation cards, reflexology tools, aromatherapy massage rollers and inhalers, boxes of fancy coffee, and a myriad of other small, thoughtful and smile-inducing gifts.
With each gift is a small card which says: “I just wanted to say thank you for being you and to let you know that you are loved & appreciated. May your day be filled with smiles, love, laughter and blessings. Remember: When life brings us to our knees that we are right where we are supposed to be. Bloom where you are planted!”
Our Smiles for Healing volunteers buy these small gifts with money from their own pockets as well as with donations given through this site. We leave the gifts where we live, where we visit and where we travel. We’re just normal folks each trying to make a difference one person at a time – one smile at a time.
How You Can Help
- Start your own Smiles for Healing Project where you live. Get a friend or three and begin leaving small gifts and/or inspirational cards around town, where you travel, on cars, etc.
- Tell folks about our project and ask them to join us or help us
- Donate small gifts for us to give. These can certainly be branded items for businesses as long as they are small and useful or uplifting items. This is a great way to both further peace and healing on our planet by inducing a smile while getting the word out about your business or service. If you would like to donate small items to be given away by our ‘kindness army’ – please contact us!
- Use the form below and donate to our project. A single dollar buys gifts for 3 people and every dollar received goes to purchasing these small gifts.

Simply helpful to everybody! Especially if that person is depress. SMILE can totally cure a broken heart. I would love to start helping other people.. By the way, if you’re going to smile to a person you will meet along the way, try to give them a sincere smile.. :)
I try to do this everywhere I go… it is amazing how it can brighten up not only the other person’s day, but yours as well.
