Organization. It’s a word that strikes fear into most people who have problems with it or who live a life that’s naturally cluttered. So that you can become more productive and feel more satisfied about what you do get finished.
The core areas in which you might want to address in your quest to become more organized. These are: finances, family and relationships, home, work and self. It’s well beyond the ability of this article to address the organizational tasks responsible for improving a person’s overall life but it is possible to help you understand some of the basic core tenets to organizing your life. Using these factors you can easily extrapolate the information to get started in each of the different core areas of your life.
Organizing your finances allows an individual freedom. Most people find that addressing their finances gives them a feeling of fear in the pit of the stomach. After all whats not known won’t hurt you. But in reality the reverse is actually true. The more you understand and know what is happening with your finances and your investments do better able you’re able to plan for the future. The same is true for organizing family, your space at home, finding balance at work and searching for peace and serenity in your own life.
The biggest tip to organizing your life is to recognize that your life, at this point, is not organized and that ability. This means that you must totally eliminate the way that you do things now and create a new structure or re-organize and restructure tasks as you do them now. In either case, you will be stepping outside of your comfort zone and making significant changes in the way that you perform your daily activities.
Sometimes this reorganization can be fun and exciting and create results in your life that you didn’t expect. For instance, re-organizing your home, specifically your kitchen, can decrease your stress level when preparing dinner and increase the ability of your spouse and children to help with tasks.
At other times this reorganization can create stress in your life. For instance, if you have been unsuccessful in finding a stable relationship in your life it may not be because of who you are meeting but rather who you are. In this way you must address your own needs first and address the for some odd that you present to the public. Only by reorganizing your selves and your own structure will you be able to find balance and peace which helps you then successfully achieve stable relationships.
Reorganizing, or organizing, your work environment is not always strictly up to you. You may have to seek the advice and permission of a manager or boss before you’re able to physically move items in your office, purchase software which may increase your productivity or change your space in order to decrease constant interruptions throughout the day.
It’s important to address your boss with respect and communicates that be restructure is something you require in order to become more productive and increase revenue for your company. Constant interruptions by coworkers, slow computers or ergonomically incorrect furniture will only decrease the amount of time that you are able to work productively.
Finding balance in sight your family also means that children and spouses will be involved in the process of organizing daily tasks or nightly activities. It’s helpful to use a single calendar, placed in strategic location, in order to organize activities for all family members. Family members should be aware that anything they wish to accomplish or wish to attend should be written on the family calendar. In this way it’s easier to plan meals, plan carpools and driving as well as decrease the risk of having three events in one night with only two parents who can attend.
Organizing your life is a process that starts when you recognize that organizational skills will only help to improve your productivity and when you are willing to make significant and specific changes in the way in which you do things. You can organize your life from your closets to your boss but unless you’re willing to follow through on the changes and meet obstacles with a positive attitude these organizational changes won’t be nearly as fun or exciting as you might’ve hoped.
